Introduction to the Course and Key Information
This introductory module works through how the course will run, learning about the instructor, and an outline for what's included.
There are warm-up activities focusing on the power of public speaking and understanding what may be holding you back.
MODULE 1
The Who
Who are you as a communicator and a speaker? This module looks at:
- What makes you unique
- Busting myths
- Understanding personality types and things such as introversion and extroversion
You’ll finish this module understanding more about yourself and what you bring to the table as a communicator.
MODULE 2
The Why
Why is public speaking and communicating important to know about and improve as a skill? This module explores:
- How this is a critical skill for workplaces and board rooms
- How improving this skill can set you apart and give you a competitive edge
- Lessons that can be learned from the TEDx arena
You’ll feel empowered and excited to get stuck into the more technical aspects of the course.
MODULE 3
The How
How do we do this? How do we communicate and speak in public and do it with confidence? In this module, you’ll learn:
- A preparation process to assist with how to prepare and deliver a talk
- Breathing techniques to help with anxiety
- Tips for confidence building.

Hey, I'm Theo Kapodistrias!
I'm a multi-award-winning legal, commercial and governance executive. I've also created my own business as a speaker, trainer and public speaking and communications coach to help individuals speak up, show up and make an impact with their voice and words.
I'm also the Executive Director and a speaking coach with TEDxHobart.
I have extensive experience as a communicator having done so all my life. I speak publicly advocating for my beliefs, the organisations I represent, and I want to help others be their best selves.
Oh, and by the way, did you know I was awarded 2022 International Speaker of the Year?
